Bumchu Festival

Bumchu is celebrated on the 15th day of the lunar calendar at Tashiding monastery where devotees come from nearby countries. The main highlight of the festival is the water-containing vessel that is believed to signify the fortunes of the coming year.

Maghey Sankranti

Also known as Makar Sankranti, the festival is celebrated for the onset of warmer weather. The festival is commonly celebrated among the Nepali community of Sikkim.
